Variable Fan and Fixed-Stage Heater Controller

Model: FC-1T-1VAC-1F
Control ventilation and heating with one easy-to-use controller

The FC-1T-1VAC-1F automatically controls the temperature in a room by adjusting variable speed fans and controlling a heater interlock.

How it works
  • When the temperature is at the temperature set point, the FC-1T-1VAC-1F operates the fans at the idle speed setting and the heater is off.
  • When the temperature exceeds the set point, it increases the speed of the fans.
  • When the temperature drops below the set point, it shuts off the fans (in shut-off mode) or operates the fans at idle speed (idle mode) and switches on the heater or heat lamps.

The FC-1T-1VAC-1F is ideal for poultry, livestock, greenhouse, or light industrial buildings.

General

Is this a replacement for the FHC-1D or VTC-1D?

Yes, it is a direct replacement for the FHC-1D. It also replaces the VTC-1D, the difference being the addition of the heater interlock feature.

Can it be set up to have the fan continually running?

Yes, by using Idle mode. See the user manual for more information.

What is the variable stage rating?

10 A at 120/230 VAC, general-purpose (resistive)
7 FLA at 120/230 VAC, PSC motor
1/2 HP at 120 VAC, 1 HP at 230 VAC, PSC motor

Can it control fixed-speed fans?

No, the fixed stage is for a heater only. The FC-1T-1F controls fixed-speed fans.

Does this control have a manual override?

No.

How big is the control?

The enclosure is 4.75 x 7.80 x 3.75 in. (12 x 15.6 x 9.5 cm) The switch and knob add an additional 0.75 in. (1.9 cm) to the depth.

Installation

What is the difference between Off Setback (OSB) and Idle modes?

In OSB mode, the fan will idle for a set number of degrees below the set point; it will be off below that. In Idle mode, the fan will always idle below the set point, no matter how low the temperature goes.

Troubleshooting

Why does my fan stay on when my heater is running?

In Off Setback (OSB) mode, the fan will idle when the temperature is below the set point, up to the number of degrees that the OSB is set to. In Idle mode, the fan will always idle when the temperature is below the set point.

Why is my fan off when I am in Idle mode?

You may need to increase the idle speed for your fan. Adjust the idle speed as per the instructions in the user manual.
