Controlling variable frequency drives just got easier. The FC-1T-1VDC has a 0 to 10 VDC signal output and a disconnect relay that allows you to easily and effectively control variable frequency drives.

The FC-1T-1VDC has many other applications including controlling expansion controls, modulating valves, or other equipment requiring a DC signal. All this from one easy-to-use control!

How it works

The display shows temperatures, signal output, programming information, and alarm codes. The indicator lights show which settings you are editing. The knob allows you to easily move between and adjust settings.

When the 0 to 10 VDC signal output is at 0, the disconnect relay sends a start/stop signal to the equipment you are controlling with the variable output. The relay is not for controlling fans, heaters, or other equipment.

General

Does this replace the SSV-DC?

Yes, it is a direct replacement for the SSV-DC.

How many VFDs can it control?

The output rating is 2k Ω of load. Each device or wire attached to the output adds to the load. The total number of VFDs it can control depends on the VFDs and well as the length of wiring connecting them.

Does it have a manual override?

There is a software manual override. See Manual mode in the user manual for information about how to use it.

Can I use the disconnect relay to control a fan?

No. The disconnect relay is designed to send a stop signal to the 0 to 10 VDC equipment it is controlling when the variable output goes to 0 V.

Does a low or high temperature alarm affect the output?

No. If there is a low or high temperature alarm the, alarm contacts will change state but the variable output will continue to operate according to the programmed settings.

How big is the control?

The enclosure is 4.75 x 7.80 x 3.75 in. (12 x 15.6 x 9.5 cm) The switch and knob add an additional 0.75 in. (1.9 cm) to the depth.

Installation

Where do I connect the disconnect relay?

Connect the disconnect relay to the Start/Stop connections on your equipment. See Connect equipment in the user manual for more information.

Can I have the fan come on at a voltage higher than 0 V?

Yes. The idle speed is roughly 10 times the voltage at which the fan will come on. For example, if you have your idle speed set to 40 percent, the fan will come on at 4 V; if you have it at 80 the fan will come on at 8 V.

Troubleshooting

Why does my equipment still run when the output is at 0 percent?

Some equipment may still operate at a very low value at 0 percent. Use the disconnect relay to fully cut off the power to the equipment and ensure that 0 percent means fully off. See Connect Equipment in the user manual for more information.
